These Terms govern your use of StoryVault AI ("the App"), provided by HyperSage AI Labs LLC. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The App
StoryVault AI is an iOS app that lets you read public-domain classics and create AI-generated branching stories. The App generates new prose and illustrations using third-party AI services on our backend.
2. AI-generated content
Stories, choices, and illustrations generated by the AI are created in response to your input. The AI may occasionally produce content that is inaccurate, repetitive, or unintentionally similar to existing works. You are responsible for what you submit and for any use you make of the output. We do not claim copyright in AI-generated text or images produced for your private use within the App.
Generated content may not be:
- Used to harass, defame, or threaten any person.
- Sold or commercially redistributed in identifiable form (the App is for personal, non-commercial reading).
- Submitted as your own original creative work in contexts where attribution matters (school assignments, contests, professional submissions).
3. Subscription
StoryVault Pro is an auto-renewing subscription with two options: monthly ($9.99 USD) or annual ($59.99 USD). The annual plan includes a 7-day free trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid year. Prices are shown in your local currency at the point of purchase and may differ by storefront. All purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. No refunds are processed by us; refund requests go to Apple.
4. Free tier limits
New readers get 10 AI Adventure turns free — enough to take one story from its opening through to an ending. This is a one-time welcome rather than a monthly allowance: it does not refill, and once it is used, continuing with AI turns needs an active StoryVault Pro subscription. The counter is stored on your device. Pro raises the allowance to 3,000 AI Adventure turns a month; it is not unlimited. Reading the bundled classics is free and unlimited on both tiers.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the App to generate content that is illegal where you live, sexually explicit, sexually involves minors, contains real personal attacks, or is intended for harassment. We may restrict service to users who do.
6. Published stories and community conduct
Stories you publish to Tales are visible to other people using the App. Publishing is optional; anything you do not publish stays on your device. You keep whatever rights you have in what you write, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display it inside the App for as long as it stays published. You can unpublish a story at any time from your author profile.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content. Published stories are filtered automatically before they appear, and every published story and every illustration carries a Report control. You can also block an author from your feed, which hides everything they have published from you immediately and permanently until you unblock them.
We review every report and act on it within 24 hours — removing the content, and ejecting the author where the behaviour warrants it. Content that is illegal, sexually explicit, sexually involves minors, harasses or defames a real person, or is posted to abuse other users will be taken down and the account terminated.
By publishing, you confirm that the story is yours to publish and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright or trademark. If you believe something published in the App infringes your rights, write to the contact address in §10 and we will respond promptly.
7. Public-domain content
The 80 bundled books are works whose copyright has expired. We select them by the author's date of death rather than by publication year, so that each title is also out of copyright in "life plus 70 years" jurisdictions — not only in the United States, where the term is measured from publication. The App's curated text editions are derived from Project Gutenberg with light formatting; you may read, copy, and share these freely.
8. Warranties & liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for damages arising from use of the App, including any reliance on AI-generated content for any purpose, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via the App Store update notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
