A snowy island to waddle around.
Make a penguin, wander a painted arctic island, start a snowball fight, and duck through a door when you feel like an arcade game. No download, no sign-up, no cost.
Works on a phone, tablet, or computer.
Seven places to be. One of them has no name.
Every area is a painting you can walk into, and each one has doors, games, and penguins standing around. The Town Square up top is one of them: coffee on one side, dinner on the other, the shop in the middle. Here's the rest of the island. Walk between them, or take the map.
The Shore
Fishing, surfing, a lazy drift down the floe — and the way into the aquarium.
The Slopes
Sledding, climbing, outrunning an avalanche. Your igloo's up here too.
Snow Forts
Snowball fights, big leaps, and some very thin ice.
Aurora City
Where the island stays up late — the arcade, the lounge, and the club.
The Cozy Beak
The coffee house on the Town Square. Deep armchairs, a stone fireplace, and a brass espresso machine.
The place with no name
On the map it's just a shimmer out on the water. Tap it once and it finally gets a name, which we won't spoil here.
Plus the Mountain Peak, and seven rooms to step inside: the aquarium, the arcade, the coffee house, a restaurant, a lounge, a club, and the loft above it.
Seventeen games. Walk right in.
Eleven have their own door out on the island: walk up to the dock, the trailhead, the fort, or the shore ice, and go in. The rest are cabinets in Aurora City's Floe Arcade, and the map's game directory takes you straight to any of the seventeen. Play for Snowflakes, then spend them on a hat to wear back outside.

The island is live. Say hello.
Other players wander the island right alongside you, and so do its resident penguins.
Chat and emotes
Speech bubbles over your head, a wheel of emotes, and ready-made phrases for when you'd rather tap than type. Players under 13 use the phrases only, and typed messages from other players never reach their screen.
Friends and parties
Add friends, then start a party with a six-character code and take on a game together. Players under 13 can add a friend only by friend code, with a grown-up's okay.
Snowballs
Throwable at anyone, harmless to everyone. The island's universal greeting.
Your own igloo
Fill it with furniture, wallpaper, and flooring from the shop. Drag each piece into place, turn it, and redo the whole room whenever you like.
Seven pets to adopt
Pick a fluffy one, feed it, and play with it. Nothing bad ever happens to your pet.
Badges and levels
Eighteen badges to earn, levels to climb, and a daily bonus for showing up.
Twenty-six colors is only the start.
The catalog has 154 things to wear and place: body colors, hats, glasses, scarves, capes, vests, feet, and eye styles, plus furniture, wallpaper, and flooring for your igloo.
- Snowflakes ❄ come from playing and buy 135 of the 154.
- A weekly rotation brings limited items through the shop.
- The Waddleton Times is the island's own weekly paper.
- Timed events come and go, and the ones you played stay in an archive.
No ads. Nothing you have to buy.
Every room, every game, and every feature is free.
Nearly the whole shop is earned.
All but 19 of its items are bought with Snowflakes from playing. Those 19 are cosmetics priced in Goldfish, a premium currency, or reserved for Waddleton Club members. Goldfish and Club membership will be optional purchases in the mobile app when it ships, and neither can be bought in the browser. None of them makes a penguin faster, stronger, or higher on a leaderboard.
No sign-up. No tracking.
Play the whole game without making an account. A guest penguin appears the moment you arrive, and there are no third-party analytics or ad networks anywhere in the game.
An age screen runs before the island does.
It asks for the month and year you were born. The date itself is never stored or sent anywhere. Only the age band it puts you in (child, teen, or adult) is kept, and that band sets how chat works and what your penguin may be called. Under 13, there's no typing box at all: those players chat with ready-made phrases, never see what others type, and pick their penguin's name from a generated list. Anything that costs money or opens a page outside the game sits behind a parental keypad, for every player.
Take your penguin with you.
Sign in and your penguin follows you to any device. Without signing in, it's saved in the browser you play in, and clearing your browser data starts you over.
FAQ
Is it really free?
Yes. Every room, every mini-game, and every feature is free, and there are no ads. Snowflakes are earned by playing and buy 135 of the shop's 154 items. The other 19 are cosmetic: 15 are priced in Goldfish, a premium currency you'll be able to buy once the mobile app ships, and 4 are for members of the Waddleton Club, an optional monthly subscription coming with the app. Nothing you can buy affects a score, a leaderboard, or how well you play.
Do I have to make an account?
No. One screen asks the month and year you were born, and then you're a penguin. The month and year are never stored or sent anywhere. What's kept is the age band they put you in (child, teen, or adult), because that decides how chat works, what your penguin may be called, and who can reach you. The band is saved on your device and travels with your penguin's record to our database. A guest identity is created for you automatically so other players can see you on the island. There's no email, no password, and nothing to sign up for.
Will my penguin follow me to another device?
Yes, if you're 13 or older and sign in. It's optional, and it attaches the penguin you already have to your account so it follows you. Without signing in, your penguin is saved only in the browser or app you made it in. Your phone and your computer would be two separate penguins, and clearing your browser data would lose it for good.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Not yet, but a mobile app is on the way. For now Waddleton runs in the browser on phones and tablets, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
Is the chat safe?
Everything typed goes through the same filter in the browser and again on the server, so it can't be bypassed. Profanity is masked, anything that looks like a phone number, email, link, or address is blocked outright, and the obvious dodges, like writing numbers in place of letters, are caught too. Players under 13 don't type at all: they chat with ready-made phrases and never see anyone else's typed text. Everyone can mute or block any player and report anyone who's being a problem. Reports are recorded, but there's no full-time moderation team reading them, so please use mute and block. Both work immediately.
Are the leaderboards legit?
Yes. Scores are checked before they reach a board, and nothing you can buy affects a score or a rank. Sixteen of the seventeen games have a shared board (Lazy Floe has no score to beat), and a score is posted when you beat your personal best. Teens and adults post under the name they chose, so pick one you're happy to make public. Players under 13 never publish a name they picked: the board shows a penguin name the game generates, and the score still counts.
What do you collect about me?
Very little: your penguin (its name, look, and progress), your age band, your scores, and anything you write in a report. No real name, no location, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics. No email either, unless you sign in with Google to take your penguin to another device. The details are in the privacy policy.
Is Waddleton finished?
No, and that's the fun part. New areas, games, items, and events are still being added, so the island keeps growing.
