After a supported change, its confirmation offers Undo. A supported undone action can offer Redo. While you're typing in a note, undo and redo arrows sit in that note's top bar. The Ledger tab has the full history: everything Loam does, and each pin, tick and filing you make, is recorded as a row. Supported rows offer Undo or Redo, and eligible rows from today can be reversed as a batch. Inside a tidied note, the banner offers "Undo tidy" and "View original" directly. Both directions are surgical — undoing an old tidy never clobbers a newer filing.
Redo replays what was stored, so it never asks the companion anything and never spends your daily allowance. It refuses, and says why: after you undo a capture (the note is gone, and deleted means deleted in both directions), for a deleted note, for a row your own edit retired, for a reminder (those are re-armed rather than restored — accept the mark again), for a note you have written into since you undid it, so your newer words are never eaten, and for a change you have since made yourself, such as filing that note somewhere else. Undoing a capture is also refused outright once you have written into that note — delete the note itself if you really mean to.
No — and that's by design. Loam has no trash can and our server keeps no copies, so a confirmed delete is final: the note, its Ledger entries, and its chat traces. (Text already sent to Anthropic for a reply follows Anthropic’s retention terms, described in the privacy policy.) The app makes you confirm precisely because there's no net.
Powers → Back up all notes saves one file with your notes, sketches and collections — keep it somewhere safe. Chats and reminders aren't in that file; they stay on this device. Powers → Copy all notes as Markdown puts your whole pile on the clipboard, ready to paste anywhere. Any single note can be shared as text from its own menu (⋯ → Share a copy, or long-press its card in the pile).
Check three things in Powers: the power in question may be set to Off or Ask first; Loam may be paused; or consent may be withdrawn (the Companion consent row offers Wake when it is). The companion also rests once the daily allowance of five actions is used — your notes, capture, undo and redo keep working regardless.
Reminders use iOS notifications: check Settings → Notifications → Loam is allowed. Loam schedules a ping only when your reminder names a moment it can read ("by Friday", "tomorrow", "tonight"); anything else stays on the reminders shelf without a ping.
In the iPhone app, dictation uses Apple's speech recognition — iOS asks for microphone and speech permissions the first time you dictate; re-enable them in Settings → Privacy if declined. If the mic cuts out mid-dictation, the words captured so far stay on the page.
