Survive the Horde.
Draft Your Doom.

A gothic illustrated horde-survivor. Pick a hero, draft upgrades every level, evolve your weapons into ascended forms, and fight to survive the endless dark.

Every level the hunt deals three cards — a new weapon, an upgrade, or an item. Reroll, banish, and craft your perfect run.

9 hunters · 18 weapons · 3 biomes

What you're getting into

Every run is a new nightmare.

One life, an endless horde, and a build you assemble on the fly. Survive long enough and your weapons don't just get stronger — they ascend.

9 Unique Heroes

Each with a distinct passive and a starting weapon — from the balanced Huntress to the heavy Gravewarden and a Revenant who grows stronger with every kill.

18 Weapons + Evolutions

Combine weapons with the right passives to discover secret evolved forms — Runestorm, Supernova, Reaper's Round — the dopamine peak of every run.

3 Dark Biomes

The Ossuary, the Frostvault, and the Ashlands — each with its own atmosphere, escalating difficulty, and a nightmare boss guarding the deep.

The Hunt

Kite the horde. Hex from range.

Your hexes fire on their own, auto-aiming into the dark — your one job is to keep moving. Weave through the swarm, funnel the horde into your bolts, and never let them close the gap.

  • One-thumb control — drag to move; your arsenal aims itself.
  • Chain-lightning & frost hexes arc across packs from across the screen.
  • Positioning is everything — get surrounded and the dark takes you.

The Hunters

Nine ways to face the dark.

Pick your hunter in the loadout, then earn the rest by clearing their challenge — or take the optional one-time Unlock All purchase and skip it. Every hero rewrites the run — a passive, a stat identity, and a starting weapon that sets the whole build in motion. Start with Vess and Kael; unlock the other six.

  • 8 distinct hunters — from the balanced Huntress to the kill-hungry Revenant.
  • Each shifts the whole build with its own passive and starting weapon.
  • Unlock by playing — each locked hunter has its own challenge (defeat a boss, survive five minutes, evolve a weapon) — or with the optional Unlock All purchase.

The Descent

Three biomes. Three nightmares.

Choose your descent from the loadout. Each biome throws a faster, tougher horde and pays out more essence for surviving it — push deep enough in one and the next unlocks, with a boss that hits harder than the last.

  • The Ossuary — a bone-choked catacomb where every hunt begins.
  • The Frostvault — a bitter, tougher horde that pays 40% more essence.
  • The Ashlands — the deepest, deadliest hunt and the richest haul of all.

Draft your build. Ascend your weapons.

Every level, choose one of three cards — a new weapon, an upgrade, or an item that bends the run your way. Reroll or banish what you don't want, then max a weapon with its paired passive to evolve it into an ascended form.

  • 18 weapons, each with an ascended form — Runestorm, Supernova, Reaper’s Round.
  • Items & passives like Lucky Charm and Swift Boots bend the odds.
  • Reroll & banish to sculpt the exact build you want.

The Deep

Something guards the deep.

Push far enough into a biome and its warden wakes — the Plague Abbot, the Frost Lich, the Ember Titan. A health bar stretches across the top, the screen fills with death, and the horde never stops. Outlast it for the richest haul of the run.

  • A boss per biome — each one deadlier than the last.
  • Fight the boss and the horde at once — no breathing room.
  • Survive the kill for a surge of essence toward your next unlock.

Common questions

FAQ

When can I play Hexhunter?

Now. Hexhunter is out on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). Questions? Email support@hypersage.ai.

Do I need an internet connection to play?

No. The hunt runs entirely on your phone — no account, no server, and nothing to sign into. A connection is only used by the optional extras: Game Center leaderboards and achievements, and the App Store when you buy or restore an unlock. Your progress lives on the device either way.

Can I unlock everything just by playing?

Yes. The six locked hunters are earned by DOING something — defeat a boss, survive five minutes, evolve a weapon, kill a thousand in one run — not by saving up. Essence is spent on relics, and deeper biomes open by surviving long enough. There are exactly two optional one-time purchases — Unlock All, which opens every hunter, stage, and relic permanently, and a Starter Pack of essence plus a hero — and that’s the whole catalog. No subscription, no ads, no consumables: nothing is sold that can’t also be earned by playing.

Does Hexhunter have leaderboards?

Yes — two Game Center leaderboards, longest survival and most kills, plus 33 achievements. Game Center is entirely optional: decline it and everything still plays. Scores earned while signed out are kept on your phone and submitted if you ever sign in, and achievements ride your Game Center account, so they come back after a reinstall or on a new phone.

What does Hexhunter collect about me?

Nothing. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no account to create — the app has no server of its own, and your progress, unlocks, and best times are stored on your phone. If you use Game Center or buy an unlock, those run through Apple under Apple's terms; Hexhunter itself sends nothing anywhere.

Is the art hand-drawn?

No — it's AI-generated, and we'd rather say so than pretend. Every hero, enemy, and boss plate comes from an AI image model working under one art direction, then gets curated and repaired until the whole bestiary holds a single gothic woodcut line. The music is synthesized from scratch in-house too — no stock art, no licensed audio.
