Common questions
I'm stuck on a career level.
Every one of the 40 career levels is clearable with the standard 55-swing pickaxe — we check that before shipping, with a bot that plays all of them. If a level is fighting you: read the cards before you dig, take rocks that are holding a wall up rather than the loose gem on top, and remember that a gem you never deliver earns nothing at all.
If you would rather have a hand, the fail screen offers a Deeper Pick for 250 coins: eight extra swings on one retry of that level. It is bought with coins you dug, never with money.
My progress is gone.
Progress lives in your phone's app storage. Deleting the app deletes it,
and it does not transfer between devices — there is no account to carry
it. If progress vanished without you deleting anything, please email us:
include your MOLE- name from the Daily results screen if you
still have it, and roughly what career level and hoard count you had.
There is no sound.
Check the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone first, then open the gear in the bottom-right of the dig screen: music and sound effects have separate mutes, so one can be off while the other plays. If the music stopped mid-shift and never came back, that is a bug and we want to hear about it — tell us what you did just before it went quiet.
My Daily Dig score isn't on the board.
Only the Daily Dig posts a score, and only your best run of that day stands — a later, worse run will not replace a better one. If you dug while offline, the score is held on your phone and sent the next time you open the game with a connection. The board resets at midnight UTC, which may be the middle of your afternoon.
Take my score off the leaderboard.
Email us the MOLE- name shown on your results screen and the
day, and we will delete the row.
How do I restore my purchase?
Gemburrow has one purchase — The Full Burrow, which opens career levels 11–40 and the 14-day dig archive. If you have bought it already, on this phone or another one on the same Apple ID, tap the gear on the home screen — not mid-dig — and choose RESTORE PURCHASE. The unlock screen carries the same button. The game will tell you either Purchase restored or No purchase found on this Apple ID. The button disappears once the unlock is already on the device, because there is then nothing left to restore.
Coins are a different thing entirely: they are earned by digging, never bought, and everything the mole's shop sells is paid for with them.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. That removes the save and the random identifier with it. The only thing that could remain anywhere else is a Daily Dig score row, which we will delete on request — see above.
Is there an Android or iPad version?
Gemburrow is an iPhone game, in portrait. It is built on a stack that can reach Android, so a version there is plausible later, but nothing is promised and there is no date.
Reporting a bug
The most useful bug report tells us:
- your iPhone model and iOS version;
- which mode you were in — Career (and the level), Daily Dig, or Free Dig;
- what you did immediately before, and what you expected instead;
- a screenshot or a screen recording, if you can catch it.
