Welcome to Nightshelf. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

License to use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Nightshelf for your own personal, non-commercial listening and reading on devices you own or control. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the app.

The stories

The bundled classics are works in the public domain — the copyright has expired and the words belong to everyone. Their text is included for your private use, and our thanks go to the volunteer transcribers who typed these pages back into readable form. Custom bedtime stories you conjure in the app are written by AI, for your own personal enjoyment.

Nightshelf Pro

All 82 books are installed with the app, so the shelf works offline. Thirteen are free to read; Nightshelf Pro opens the remaining 69, along with the six cloud narrators, Tonight's Story, and sleep timers longer than an hour. Tonight's Story and cloud narration carry daily limits that reset each night — they exist to keep running costs sane, not to meter ordinary bedtime use, and we may adjust them.

Nightshelf Pro is a recurring, auto-renewing subscription billed monthly or annually through your Apple ID. Where offered, the annual plan includes a 7-day free trial that converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends; the trial is shown only when your Apple ID is eligible.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime — and turn off auto-renewal — in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's policies; Nightshelf does not issue refunds directly.

Availability & changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. Cloud narration and story writing depend on network services and may occasionally be unavailable; the on-device voice keeps stories playing when they are. We aim to keep Nightshelf running smoothly but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Nightshelf is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.
