Common questions

I lost my progress.

Campaign stars, Forge, trials, and your Daily best are all stored on that one device, in your browser's local storage. Each browser keeps its own save. Clearing your browser data, using a different browser, or switching devices starts a fresh save. There is no account to sign back into and no cloud backup, so we can't restore a lost save.

Is Hoardling free? Is there anything to buy?

Yes, and there is nothing to buy — no purchases, no subscriptions, no ads.

Why don't I have a leaderboard name?

You only get one if you choose to post. The first time you start a Daily Siege, the game asks whether to post your waves to the public board. If you choose Post my waves, a name is generated for you when that run calls its first wave, in the shape WICK-XXXX. There's no name field to fill in.

How do I start or stop posting my Daily Siege scores?

Nothing is posted unless you say yes. The game asks before your first Daily Siege run, with two choices: Post my waves or Don't post. Tapping outside the question goes back without answering, and you'll be asked again next time. To change your answer later, finish a Daily Siege run: the results screen shows "posting as WICK-XXXX — tap to stop" (tap it and posting stops straight away) or "not posting — tap to join the ladder" (tap it to see the question again). If you join from a results screen, posting starts with your next Daily Siege, because the server only accepts runs it has timed from the start. A score already posted can't be removed. See the Privacy page for what a score row actually contains. Campaign and Duel runs are never posted.

My Daily Siege score didn't show up on the board.

If you were offline or the connection dropped, the game tries that score again while it's open, for example when your connection comes back. It gives up after seven failed tries, or on the first failed try more than an hour after the run ended. If it's still missing after that, tell us the wave you reached and roughly when, and we'll check the board.

What's the difference between Hoardling and Hoardling 3D?

They're the same defend-the-hoard game. Hoardling 3D is a separate, experimental build with a real-time 3D renderer instead of the painted 2D one. It forked from an earlier version of the game, so it has three campaign keeps instead of four and no Duels or Your Cavern. It has no leaderboard. Your campaign progress in each is kept separate.

How do I delete my data?

Clear this site's data in your browser. Your save lives only on that device. A Daily Siege score already on the public board carries only its generated WICK-XXXX name and wave, and the Privacy page explains what can and can't be removed.

The game feels slow, laggy, or won't load.

Closing other heavy tabs usually helps, and a fresh page load can clear a stuck asset download. If it keeps happening, tell us your device and browser and we'll dig in.
