Terms of Service
Last updated: August 24, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Saffra (the "Service"), operated by HyperSage AI Labs LLC.
1. Acceptance
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old (or older where required by law — 16 in much of the EU). If you're a minor, a parent/guardian must agree on your behalf.
3. Account
You log in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. You're responsible for actions taken under your account.
4. The Service is an AI
- The chef is an AI. It is very capable but can make mistakes.
- Recipes, substitutions, cooking times, allergen detection, and dietary advice are generated or adapted by AI.
- You are responsible for verifying ingredients, allergens, cooking temperatures, and food-safety practices for anyone you feed — including yourself.
- The Service is not a substitute for medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. If you have a medical condition (allergy, celiac, pregnancy, eating disorder, etc.), consult a qualified professional.
- Use the Service with judgment. If something the chef says looks wrong, it probably is.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for non-cooking purposes (e.g., jailbreaking the chef to answer off-topic questions).
- Scrape or redistribute our recipe library or cached voice audio.
- Reverse-engineer the Service or probe it for vulnerabilities outside a responsible-disclosure process.
- Use the Service to generate content that violates any law.
- Resell the Service or repackage it.
5a. Community content rules (objectionable-content policy)
Community sharing is not available in the current version of Saffra — there is no feed and no way to publish a post. The rules in this section apply if and when community sharing becomes available. They exist so everyone can enjoy the feature, and so we can comply with the App Store's user-generated-content guidelines.
If community sharing becomes available and you opt into it, additional rules apply to anything you post (photos, captions, comments, display name, bio).
You will not post:
- Nudity, sexual content, or sexual solicitation.
- Violence, gore, or content glorifying self-harm or the harm of others.
- Content that harasses, bullies, threatens, or targets an individual or group — including hate speech, slurs, and identity-based attacks.
- Content that infringes someone else's intellectual-property rights.
- Spam, deceptive links, pyramid schemes, or scams.
- Content whose primary subject is not a real dish you cooked. The feed is for cooking, not ads or memes.
- Personal information about other people (addresses, phone numbers, government IDs, etc.) without their consent.
- Content that violates any law.
We use automated image classification and manual review to enforce these rules. We reserve the right to remove any content and, in serious or repeat cases, terminate the account responsible, without notice. Where community sharing is available, you can report content from the post's overflow menu; every report is reviewed and actioned within 24 hours, and you can block another user at any time from their public profile, after which they will no longer see your posts and you will no longer see theirs.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Violations may result in immediate removal and permanent ban.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Your content
- You retain ownership of recipes you import, photos of receipts/cookbooks you scan, messages you send to the chef, and any community post you publish if community sharing becomes available.
- You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you. We don't use it for anything else.
- If community sharing becomes available and you publish a community post, you additionally grant every other user of the Service the right to view that post inside the app, and you grant us the right to display it in community-discovery surfaces (per-recipe rails, the community feed, your public profile). This license ends when you delete the post or your account. No such license is granted today, because no post can be published.
- You represent that you have the right to any content you post — including that you took any photo you upload and that nothing in the post violates someone else's rights.
7. Our content
- Curated recipes, generated audio, the chef persona, and the app's design are our property or licensed to us.
- You may view and cook from your personalized adaptations freely; you may not bulk-export or redistribute the library.
8. Third-party services
Parts of the Service depend on third parties (OpenAI, Apple, Google, USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, Fly.io). Those providers have their own terms. We're not responsible for their downtime or policy changes.
9. Subscriptions and payment
Saffra is free to try. Saffra Pro is an optional paid tier that lifts the free tier's 10-message chef-chat cap (fair-use rate limits still apply), and unlocks per-recipe adaptation, hands-free voice cooking, recipe imports, and pantry scanning (barcode + receipt).
9.1 Products, pricing, and billing
Saffra Pro is sold exclusively through the App Store in two forms:
- Pro Monthly — billed every month.
- Pro Annual — 7-day free trial, then billed every 12 months. New subscribers only.
Exact prices are shown in-app on the upgrade screen immediately before purchase, in your local currency. Prices may vary by region per Apple's pricing matrix.
9.2 Auto-renewal
Monthly and Annual subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and again at each renewal. The renewal charge is billed by Apple, not by us.
9.3 Free trial
The Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers. At the end of the trial, your Apple ID is charged the full annual price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple will send you a reminder email before any trial-to-paid conversion. The trial is limited to one per Apple ID family.
9.4 Managing, cancelling, and refunds
- Manage or cancel: tap Settings → Saffra Pro → Manage Subscription (or go to iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep Pro until then.
- Refunds: all refund decisions are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy (reportaproblem.apple.com). We do not issue refunds directly.
- Restore purchases: tap Settings → Saffra Pro → Restore Purchases to re-entitle a previous purchase on a new device or after reinstall.
9.5 Price changes
If we change the price of an existing subscription, Apple will notify you in advance and require your explicit consent before charging the new price. If you don't consent, the subscription will not renew.
9.6 Downgrade behavior
If your Pro subscription lapses (non-renewal, cancellation, refund, or expired payment method), you will be moved back to the free tier. Your data — recipes, pantry, conversations — stays put; only the usage caps re-engage. You can re-subscribe at any time.
9.7 What Pro is not
Saffra Pro is a subscription to a software service — it does not include human nutrition counseling, medical advice, or any offline product. The AI safety disclaimers in §4 apply to Pro just as they do to the free tier.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, violate the community rules in §5a, or create safety risk for other users. Deleting your account from Profile / Me immediately removes your data from our servers, including any community content — photos, posts, comments, likes, follows and notifications — that exists if community sharing becomes available.
11. Disclaimers
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
- We don't warrant the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
- Food preparation involves inherent risks (sharp tools, heat, allergens). You assume those risks.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HyperSage AI Labs LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) $20 USD.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold HyperSage AI Labs LLC harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another's rights.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be flagged in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
